This small late Victorian silver-mounted small glass hip flask, with a twist and hinged cap was made by Henry Matthews, Birmingham in 1892. The base has a removable cup with a gilded interior. The twist hinged cap is in good order and closes well. Of an ovoid shape and measuring 75mm high and 44mm wide it is well marked on the base, it is a delightful, tactile handbag/pocket size flask. This good 19thc Chinese solid silver lidded European dog box, with a European subject dog carries a sterling mark on the base and a maker’s mark of “sin yong kwong hah”. It is a substantial box measuring 155mm wide, 73mm deep and 37mm high. It weighs 253g. It is a most arresting item with good detail. You will note from the illustrations that it has some age wear and this is reflected in the price. An  interesting silver object which I am sure will once again reach a treasured by its future owner. This pair of silver spill vases date from 1901and reflect the elegance of the Edwardian era. They are 190mm tall and 68mm wide at the foot and, as you will see in the images, they are in good condition with only minor age wear. Used to hold spills to light the fire or a cigar they are still useful today and also may serve a new purpose as dried flower vasee.

This most unusual small arts and crafts silver bowl by Liberty & Co. has a basket weave and punch decorated edge and a mark for Birmingham 1916. It measures 110mm wide and 60mm high. You will note the Liberty mark on the rear and what appears to be a pattern or limited edition number of 5815. It is a true reflection of the period and of Liberty quality and style.

This rare Victorian global silver salt with bun feet carries a London hallmark for 1898. You will note from the images that it unscrews at the centre to top up the salt. The marks are clear and it is pleasantly decorated with a circular leaf design. It is in good condition with some minor age wear and measures 95mm high and 80mm wide.  It weighs 134g. This Arts and Crafts silver matchbox cover carries a 1903 hallmark. It is embossed in the Art Nouveau style with a maiden’s head and foliate tendrils. Naturally it is the matchbox size of the period measuring 45mm long and 30mm wide. Condition is good. Both striking sides have replacement strikers and, for illustration purposes, the matches are cut down Swan Vestas So it is an operational as well as charming item.

This pair of Georgian silver sugar tongs with shell bowl ends are more decorative than most. In good condition they carry a hallmark for 1935. As you will see, they are monogrammed at the exterior curve with the initials “MC”. They weigh 43g, have a strong “spring” and are a good size at 150mm long.
