This lever filling vintage fountain pen was made in England by Conway Stewart. The model is No.475 and this example is unusual in that generally it has a single cap band whereas this is an example of the bandless version dating from around 1937. The jet black finish contrasts well with the rolled gold trim. It has the original Conway clip to the domed cap and the barrel has the original Conway lever. The main barrel text is a little worn but states “The Conway Pen – No.475” with the words “Made in England” lower down. The smooth medium point nib states “Conway Stewart 14ct Gold 3”. The 475 is a healthy size Conway measuring 128mm with cap on and 165mm with cap on barrel end. Apart from general minor age wear and some brassing to the trim, this vintage Conway is in good condition and will serve well as a classic Conway every day writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This unusual and stylish late vintage fountain pen was made by Parker in America c1982 and is reported to have been discontinued with the rest of the series in 1983. It was termed the Parker “50” or Parker "Falcon". It followed the success of the original brushed steel Flighter version released in U.S.A. in 1978. The nib is an integral part of the section and on its launch Parker advertised it as the second pen without a separate nib – the first being the quill. Its sleek, elegant and futuristic styling is quite distinct. The polished nib tip is pleasantly offset by the matt brown nib section, barrel and cap with gold plated Parker arrow clip. It has the words “Parker Made in U.S.A.” around the cap lip. It is a slim pen measuring 130mm with cap on and 140mm with cap on barrel end. It has a Parker squeezebox filling system fitted and it will also take current Parker ink cartridges. Condition is very good as can be seen in the montage. With its sleek aerodynamic styling this late vintage fountain pen is suitable to add to a collection or to use as an every day writer if you like a smooth fine to medium nib. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may also select your method of payment.

This Waterman vintage fountain pen was made in the USA in the 1920’s. Waterman produced a series of hard rubber red and black pens at the time, some were in what they termed a “Woodgrain” finish which imitated the grain of wood and others, such as this one, had a wavy red and black pattern which was termed a “Ripple” finish. It is a good example of Waterman design between the earlier plain hard rubber pens and the highly coloured plastic pens that followed. Waterman produced a series of ripple colour coded pens and this is from that range. You will note the thin band at the top of the cap. The colour of the cap band corresponded to the text on the nib and the type of nib point. For example, a red band for a standard nib and a Blue for a stub nib. This allowed the purchaser to easily select a writing point to fit their preference. The band in this case is purple (although the colour has faded over time) and the corresponding nib text states “Purple Waterman’s Ideal Reg US Pat Off Made in U.S.A.” Records show that the purple nib with its firm fine point was usually purchased by those entering small characters or figures. It will write without pressure, making a thin clear line. Today this smooth fine point is generally a popular choice. The cap also sports a Waterman’s Ideal ball ended “Clip Cap” clip with their trademark “Ideal” logo and the cap lip has a broad 9ct gold band. The barrel text states “Waterman’s Fountain Pen Reg U S Pat. Off Made in U.S.A.” and has the Waterman Ideal trademark. Similar text is around the bottom of the barrel although feint and the model number “5” is marked on the bottom of the barrel. It has its original Waterman’s lever with their “Ideal” lozenge. Condition is good with only minor age wear to the trim. It measures 130mm with cap on and 165mm with cap on barrel end.  A good example of Waterman’s ripple colour coded range with a firm smooth fine point. An excellent addition to a vintage fountain pen collection and an “Ideal” pen to use as an everyday writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Filling instructions will be sent with your order and a gift box is available free of charge on request at checkout where you may select your method of payment. A currency converter is provided for overseas customers.

This rolled gold bark effect finish vintage fountain pen was launched by Parker in September of 1979 and discontinued in 1982. It is a stylish and substantial pen and was positioned at the higher price end of the Parker range. The cap with its long arrow clip has no engraving around the lip. The rolled gold bark effect finish is also used on the cap crown and barrel base. The barrel has a smooth lozenge for personalisation. Around the lip of the barrel is the Parker logo and the words “Parker Made in England”. The 14ct nib has a smooth medium point. Condition is very good. It measures 132mm with cap on and 142mm with cap on barrel end. This particular example is a cartridge filler. When inserting a new Parker ink cartridge, you will need to give it a squeeze initially to encourage the transfer of ink through to the feed. An unusual and quite rare vintage fountain pen from an excellent manufacturer. Suitable for everyday use or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection.
